Hooked For Heroes 2017

Hooked for Heroes is a Charity fishing match for a fantastic cause, Help for Heroes…

The 2017 Hooked For Heroes Charity Match was held on Saturday 10th June across Covey 6, Spey, Marsh & Ribbon.
Here is a little about how the charity linked with fishing by founder Dave Stott…
“I started these matches in 2007, there were 9 of us sat round my local pond, I’ve stuck at it and year after year the popularity has grown. I can’t believe where we are now, with top class venues offering up to 300 pegs and the top names of UK angling joining in and showing their support.
The 2014 matches at Lindholme and Boldings will take my Help For Heroes fundraising total to over £10,000.
2013 saw the first Soldier book onto one of my matches and 2014 has seen a massive increase of serving soldiers booking in including Soldiers based and living in Germany driving over for the matches and a couple or three RAF personnel coming over from Akrotiri Air Force Base in Cyprus. 2014 also saw the first Help For Heroes Band Of Brothers members taking part.
Where will we end up? Who knows but boy I’m enjoying the ride.”

Top 3 anglers on the day 10.06.17, a fantastic event with 58 anglers fishing who raised a massive £1098 on the day!

1. Phil Barwell – peg 143 – 82.02 lbs
2. P Richardson – peg 173 – 44.03 lbs
3. L Fell – Ribbon peg 2 – 41.07 lbs

A huge thank you to David Stott & Team for organising everything!
