Congratulations to Danny Sixsmith for winning the top weight on the War of the Roses 2016 Match fishing for Lancashire with 132 lbs and to Dick Clegg for the Yorkshire Team winning the overall event! As it now stands, the score is one – one (In 2015 Lancashire were victorious and 2016 Yorkshire equalled!)

Who will take the lead once again in 2017?

The first leg will be held on the Lancashire Terriroty here at PL on the Tuesday 11th April, and the return leg will be held at Lindholme Lakes on the Wednesday 10th May 2017.

Dick Clegg OBE said:

“Us Yorkies need to put right the defeat at Bosworth in 1845 when King Richard the 3rd was battered by Henry Tudor later King Henry 7th. Well this Richard the Clegg OBE wants to batter Danny the Sixsmith, a Lancastrian, to put the record straight so please sign up by contacting myself or Danny.”

Dick went on to say:

“None of our international teams are eligible for funding from any of our public bodies and only a handful our teams are sponsored yet our teams consistently deliver at world level. We hope these two fundraising events will help our Veterans team get to Portugal and bring back the gold.”
